Taking a list of over 170+ attendees at MWC in 2024, the CCGroup’s Data & Analytics team used its media measurement tools to analyse how much coverage businesses secured in a sample of English language media.

To get an accurate picture of coverage, CCGroup identified what media attended the event via the event media list and partners page and by identifying publications that covered news at the event. Using this list CCGroup analysed coverage calling out MWC from February to March to identify trends, common themes and major news announcements.

Media relations impact at Mobile World Congress Barcelona 2024

Marketers often use the event as a springboard to announce news, and make as much noise as and increase brand awareness. Just last year, we saw over 1,000 pieces of coverage from an estimated 170 organisations. But is it a case of ‘strength in numbers’ or is coverage generated around the show having the desired impact for exhibitors?

To understand impact you need a more holistic view of the event to understand what the “noise” looks like and what impact you need to make in order for your message to be heard. CCGroup has analysed coverage from over 170 companies and a sample of publications and analyst firms that covered the event to get a snapshot of what works best.
