With a goal to differentiate, increase competition and better serve the market, ClearBank launched 2017, as the first new clearing bank in 250 years.
Its proposition is different—as a tech-bank ClearBank holds a full banking licence, and its technology ensures the agility and innovation of a fintech.
But it faced the challenge of establishing itself as a bank that could rival the big four, while demonstrating it could serve the needs of the ever-changing fintech market.
Solution
The first step was position ClearBank as both trusted and innovative. CCGroup worked with the ClearBank team to establish a market position and differentiated messaging that would make it stand out from the crowd.
The second step was awareness, through a variety of earned media tactics from news to opinion to speaking, all tied to a progressive thought leadership programme, CCGroup highlighted ClearBank’s leadership, expertise and capability.
The third step was recognition, whether through customer advocacy or awards – the business won seven marquee awards in one year – CCGroup showcased the impact and performance of the bank.
Over a 4-year period, CCGroup established and grew ClearBank’s position, awareness and recognition in the market.
